Inside this issue: Principal Letter • News & Info • Important Dates
Dear Mercer Families,
The end of our first quarter is Thursday, November 9th. In celebration of all the hard work of our students we will be celebrating the last part of our school day, with our ABC & Tardy Dance and Activity.
In order to participate:
• Student grades must be in good standing (A, B, or C).
• No more than 3 tardies between October 23 and November 9.
• Student must be in good behavioral standing.
The grade level with the best results will enjoy the activities first!
Please check the Source for grade and attendance updates!
With the end of 1st quarter, families can expect to receive report cards the week of November 20th. In addition to receiving report cards you will also receive your student’s Smarter Balance Assessment results from last spring. You received a SBA score report as we transitioned into summer, yet this will be the official score report from the State of Washington with the same information.
Lastly, this Friday, November10 we do not have school in honors of Veterans Day.

Go Mustangs!

Parking Lot and Traffic Challenge at Mercer
We understand the challenges that exist when picking up and dropping off students to school. Our proximity to Columbian Way, and the small nature of our parking lot combined with the large number of students and families at Mercer make this a challenge. Nonetheless, it is really important to follow all laws and procedures when picking up and dropping off students at Mercer.
On our website is a Traffic Map that provides information and alternative locations to consider using, such as Jefferson Park or 14th Ave. There are safe walking trails and crosswalks students have access to and this may prevent the long wait you might be experiencing in our parking lot.
