    Dear Mercer Families,

I want to share a couple of important updates with you as we start our week.

    In Person Learning Update:
At this time the school district and teachers are still negotiating the schedule and agreements for in person learning in middle and high schools. As soon as we have more information about the schedule and how you can make a choice about returning to school or staying remote, we will share that with you immediately.

To help in your family planning April 5 - 8, 2021 (Monday - Wednesday) will be fully remote asynchronous (independent) learning for all students. There will be no live classes or instruction on those days. We are anticipating teachers will be returning to campus those days and preparing to welcome students back to campus after Spring Break

Last week we were informed by the district athletics office that there will be no middle school sports offered this school year. I know this is a big disappointment to many students and families. The district athletics department and middle school staff will continue to work on building athletics programming for schools by Fall 2021.

PTSA Meeting for Spanish Speaking Families:

Monday April 5 from 7-8 pm there will be a meeting for Spanish speaking families at Mercer, organized by the Mercer Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA). Please join us! Principal Watters and the PTSA will share information and answer questions. The majority of the meeting will be in Spanish. Please share your questions in this form beforehand, so we can be prepared to answer them: Question Form.

Zoom Link was sent out via email.  Please contact PTSA or Ms. Watters for link if you did not receive the email.

Also, there is WhatsApp Group for Spanish speaking families at Mercer. You can join the group here.

    Thank you!
    The Mercer PTSA

    Spring Break:
As a reminder, Spring Break is scheduled for April 12- 16, 2021 and we are hopeful we will be able to bring students back to campus beginning April 19, 2021 in alignment with the Governor's Executive Order.

I will provide more updates and information as I learn more this week.

    Go Mustangs!
    Cindy Watters, Principal
