Mercer News Oct. 13

Dear Mercer Families,
Today we acknowledge and celebrate Indigenous People's Day. In honor of this I want to take a moment and acknowledge that Mercer is on the traditional land of the Coast Salish people, including the Duwamish People past and present. We honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.
To acknowledge this land is to recognize its longer history and our place in that history; it is to recognize these lands and waters and their significance for the peoples who lived and continue to live in this region.
Thank you to all of you that joined us in the PTSA meeting last week. I want to include a few notes for those unable to attend.
Attendance: a student is considered "present" at school if they meet any of the following independent learning or live learning activities:
• Daily login to Schoology, Teams and /or completions of learning activities or assignments;
• Daily interactions with teachers;
• Evidence of participation in a task or assignment in a class.
If you have questions about attendance please contact Ms. Kolner (206) 252-8004 or tdkolner@seattleschools.org

• General questions about the coronavirus
• How to find reliable and trustworthy information
• Making a mask for yourself or family members using materials you may have on hand at home and learning how to fit it correctly
• Developing a “public service” announcement by kids for kids about how to stay safe & health during the pandemic
