    Dear Mercer Families,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday weekend. I was able to enjoy some great time with my family and friends. As we move into these three weeks before the Winter Holiday I wanted to make you aware of just a few things.

    Basketball Tryouts

Boys and Girls Basketball season starts this week.  Girl’s basketball tryouts will be Friday, Dec. 6th and Monday, Dec. 9th.  Boy’s basketball tryouts will be Tuesday, Dec. 10th and Thursday, Dec. 11th.  If your student is planning on trying out, register them on-line at

In order to participate students must be registered through familyID and have an updated physical. Physicals can be uploaded on to familyID or turned to the Main office.  Physicals are good for 2 years, so if your student completed a physical last year they meet the requirement. More information can be found at the Mercer webpage or you can email our Athletics Director Ms. Bautista,

Construction at the Beacon Hill & Columbian Way Intersection

The Seattle Department of Transportation contacted me about some changes planned for the Beacon Hill and Columbian Way intersection. These changes include:

    Vaccination Reminders

Washington state law requires that students are fully vaccinated, be in the process of completing immunizations, or have a signed Certificate of Exemption in order to attend school.

Student records must reflect updated immunization status by January 8, 2020, or students cannot attend school until the required information is provided to the school nurse.

Families of students whose records are not up to date or are missing information will be notified the week of  via email, postal mail, and a letter home from your child’s school.

Read the King County immunization schedule for children. If you have questions or need more information please contact our school nurse, Ms. Eckerdt,
