    Mission Statement

    Seattle Parks and Recreation aims to bridge the gap between communities and school by creating programs that are culturally relevant and reflective of the community we serve.


    The Mercer CLC offers the following programs:

    Out-of-School Time Program (O.S.T)

    The O.S.T. program offers a range of academic achievement, enrichment and recreation programs/activities that support the overall success of all students.

    With the new bell schedule we've changed our days and hours of operation. OST programs will be held:

    Session 1: October 1, 2018 - November 21, 2018
    Session 2: December 10, 2018 - February 14, 2019
    Session 3: March 18, 2019 - May 23, 2019

        Monday/Tuesday/Thursday - 3:45 p.m. - 5:15 p.m. 
        
        Wednesdays - 2:45 p.m. - 4:15 p.m.
        
        Fridays: Closed for all after school programming


     * All programs and activities are offered free of charge to students thanks to the Families & Education Levy.

    ***Transportation is available for students who attend afterschool programs Monday thru Thursday only based on your current SPS eligibility.  If your student needs transportation please contact Mr. Hicks by email at dlhicks@seattleschools.org***


    The Black Top Activation Project

    Often referred to as the Black Top Crew they provide lunchtime recreation activities that foster a safe and supportive environment for all students and create a culture of positive peer interaction through overall supervision during student lunch times.

    Lunchtime Sports will include: 

    • 4-on-4 Basketball League
    • 5-on-5 Flag Football League
    • 7-on-7 Soccer

    Games will be played every Tuesday & Thursday at Lunch. For information on how to sign up come see Ms. Brooks and Mr. Nate in Portable 317.


    Mid-Winter Break Camp

    The Mid-Winter Break Camp is an opportunity for students to take ownership of their learning experience. Students enrolled in this program are selected and invited to participate by administration based on midterm progress with core subject matters.

    Program will offer a leadership component for all students; breakfast and lunch are provided and transportation is available for any student with a need. Students who take their time in the program seriously will participate in a field trip at the end of the week.

    Parks Academy of Learning (P.A.L)

    The Parks Academy of Learning is a summer program that is geared to provide students with a jump start on the next academic year. Students participate in mini lessons in core subject matters (Math, ELA, & Reading) along with socio-emotional development workshops and recreational activities.

    Student enrolled in this program are selected and invited to participate by administration based on end of year progress with core subject matters; as well as offered to incoming sixth graders as a transition to middle school.

    Breakfast and Lunch are provided to students daily. Transportation is available based on need. For a registration packet click here.
